FAQS
1. How do I use dehydrated Lion’s Mane mushrooms?
Simply rehydrate by soaking the desired amount in warm water for 10–20 minutes until softened. Then cook as you would with fresh mushrooms — sauté, grill, stir-fry, or incorporate into broths, soups, or stews. The soaking liquid is also full of flavour and can be added to your dish.
2. How much fresh mushroom does 40g of dehydrated Lion’s Mane make?
Approximately 400g of fresh Lion’s Mane when fully rehydrated. Lion’s Mane mushrooms are about 90% water when fresh, so they return close to their original size and texture once soaked.
3. What does Lion’s Mane mushroom taste like?
Lion’s Mane has a subtle seafood-like flavour, often described as reminiscent of lobster, crab, or scallops. Its texture is meaty and fibrous, making it a favourite for plant-based dishes and gourmet cooking.
4. Is there a difference in quality between fresh and dehydrated Lion’s Mane?
Dehydrating preserves most of the mushroom’s natural flavour, texture, and nutritional compounds. While some delicate aromas may mellow slightly, dehydrated Lion’s Mane retains excellent culinary quality and the valuable compounds associated with functional foods.
5. Can I grind it into powder?

6. Does dehydrated Lion’s Mane have the same functional food properties as fresh?
Yes. The dehydration process preserves the mushroom’s naturally occurring compounds, including polysaccharides like beta-glucans and other nutrients. Dehydrated Lion’s Mane remains a valuable functional food that complements a balanced, nutrient-dense diet.
7. How should I store dehydrated Lion’s Mane mushrooms?
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. When stored properly, it has a shelf life of up to 12 months. Refrigeration is not necessary but may extend freshness in humid environments.

11. Is Lion’s Mane safe for everyone?
Lion’s Mane is a natural food product consumed worldwide and is generally considered safe for most people when used as part of a regular diet. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have specific health conditions, consult with a healthcare professional before adding any new functional foods to your diet.
